The Burning Hearth October 2020 Part I

Happy October Everyone! Welcome to my special October issue. I will be featuring friend and author Myles Hopper during my regular October post, but I wanted to share with you a fun, creepy flash fiction piece I wrote earlier in the spring. This piece originated from a prompt during a Bending Genres online workshop instructed by Wendy Oleson. She shared an article from the Smithsonian about a competition among museums to see who had the creepiest or most grotesque piece in their collection. She asked us to write about what was in our museum. Here’s what was in mine.

Gather around the hearth.
The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters

I hope you enjoyed the story. Stay well, and please be sure to visit again on the 15th to learn about Myles Hopper and his book My Father’s Shadow.
