The Burning Hearth Presents: All Things David Naimon

David Naimon

Welcome to my “All Things David Naimon” post. The fact that I can even say that, that I have things, meaning more than one interview with David, to share with my readers, truly makes me happy.

In January of 2022, I was digging around the internet looking for some inspiration from or about Ursula K. Le Guin. Not far into my search, I came upon some guy named David Naimon and this podcast he had done titled Crafting with Ursula. Sounded interesting, so I clicked on it. I could not believe my good fortune! Not only did the subject matter concern one of my favorite authors, but this guy, this David Naimon, was an excellent interviewer. Not since Bill Moyers had I been so rapt listening to an interview. David’s authenticity and care was undeniable. He seemed a soft spoken, gentle person with a depth and breadth of knowledge that, in my opinion, was unmatched. I just had to cyber-meet this person.

About three months into his Crafting with Ursula series, I DM’d him on then Twitter to tell him how much I liked and appreciated his interviews. Much to my surprise, he responded. We haven’t stopped corresponding since.

David has proven to be a willing ear, a thoughtful guide, and a formidable participant in GIFing ping pong. More than anything, he has given me the courage to be who I am as a writer and as an interviewer, and to trust that my audience will be found. For it all, I’m forever grateful! But I’m most grateful for the generosity and care he gave the questions I asked him during our three interviews in August of 2022, and for agreeing when I told him I had more things to ask him and proposed a once a quarter interview for a year, which resulted in our Circling Saturn rotations. All seven interviews are gathered here in this post for you to read and enjoy at your leisure.
